Challenging navigation on the track to Cameron Hut

Be aware that treefall, excess vegetation and a lack of visible markings are making this track challenging to navigate - especially the section between Kuripapango Hill and Cameron Hut, roughly 50 minutes before the hut, as you head downhill. Allow extra time, and if you are not confident navigating off the track we recommend avoiding this area at this time. First published on 21 May 2026. Last reviewed on 20 July 2026.

Cameron Hut is located on the south-western Kaweka Forest Park Boundary on the banks of the Ngaruroro River.
